Hello from Carlisle Pennsylvania

Postby NANEDEN » Mon Jun 11, 2012 6:01 pm

Hello everybody,

I am new to this foum and introducing myself.

Hello, my name is Nancy, and I make mission rosaries with OLRM supplies. I also make knotted cord rosaries and wire rosaries. I've made different chaplets also. I have been making rosaries for maybe 15 years. I belong to a rosary making group in my parish and also provide rosaries to a lady I know who is working for a sainthood cause (Rose Ferron). I shared a love for the rosary with my mother, who died in 2000. I promised her that I would pray a rosary with her every day whether she was in this world or the next, and I have missed a few days but only a few!

I would like to know if anyone makes pro life rosaries and if so, tell me about them please! We have a request for some.

Glad to be in the group!

Peace be with you, Nancy. Thank you for your great work.
How beautiful that you continue to pray rosary with your dear mother.

OLRM now offers a kit to make 100 Pro-Life rosaries (item PLR).
It includes the different colored beads, 1/4 lb. bonded cord (size 9) and white crucifixes.

You could order the parts separately if you want to use unbonded cord.
I opted for darker blue beads (item M4 royal) in the red-white-blue decade.

Thank you, Mary. I checked out the links and it seems there is quite variety of styles for a "pro-life" rosary! In the past we simply alternated blue and pink beads for the decades and added one white decade. It seemed simple and obvious, when you picked that rosary up, you knew it symbolized little girl and boy babies. I think I like that rather than the formula rosaries, even though they are very meaningful. You need to have the instructions with them. I have seen the rosaries with the little pre-born babies inside the beads.... don't want that much of a statement!

Thanks again,

Hello to a fellow Pennsylvanian, and welcome to the forum.

Can you give me a little thumb-nail sketch on Rose Ferron? I don't recognize the name.

The new store format at OLRM no longer lists the Pro-Life Rosary Kit. I hope they will bring it back. I really don't like the new format of the store either sorry to say.

The pro-life rosary kit is in the new store site. The part number remains PLR. A search in the top search box under PLR or pro-life should take you to this item. Thanks!
