Before Christmas I mailed two medium flat-rate boxes of rosaries (500) to Ghana, West Africa.
One was received last week and the second is yet to turn up. I guess I just never thought it would be so difficult to mail direct to a foreign country.
Also, through the Rosary Makers' helpful hints, I wrote on the Customs Form Prayer Beads "0" value and the statement "No Commercial Value". The Msgr. who I sent them to was required to pay a duty fee of $15.00 for the one box that did show up. I feel just terrible to also find out that he had to travel 1 1/2 hours to get to the Post Office. This exercise was pretty discouraging, especially since it was my first time sending mission rosaries direct to a foreign country myself. Does anyone have any other helpful hints for me in the event that I attempt to "send direct" again. Postage went up in January it cost me $85.64 to send the two boxes. May God Bless, Donna D
