Vintage Bead and Catalog Find

Postby JohnM » Mon Jul 21, 2008 7:14 pm

Our church is having its annual rummage sale and knowing that I make mission rosaries for the chapel at Orlando International Airport, one of the women noticed a shoe box with rosary parts in it. She was kind enough to save it for me and when I got it there was some wire, some mission beads, crucifixes, and centers. There is also a "Rosary Material Catalog Catalog" dated 1967-1968. It's labeled "Our Lady of Fatima Rosary Making Club". I wondered if that club was still around. As you may know, today it's know as our own OLRM. I was surprised.
It's a neat little catalog and even has a couple of the bead pages in color. I'm having fun looking through it.
Let's see, it has pliers for $3.00 and a case for it for .45 cents!
I just noticed that there's a pamphlet inserted in it that asks for mission rosaries featuring a Fr. Peyton.
It's all a very interesting link to the past. Don't you think?
