Recently I mailed out a box of mission rosaries to the Apostleship of the Sea. On a whim, I added a note saying I was sending the rosaries in honor of my deceased father, who'd been in the Navy during the second World War.
Today I received a letter that began:
Thank you for your generous donation of rosaries, in honor of your father who served in the Navy during World War II, to the Apostleship of the Sea. I think he is standing next to our Blessed Mother, asking that her Son bless you, and that she is very pleased by this gift you have sent us.
Dad always called Mary the Blessed Mother, and the image given in the second sentence moved me to tears. I wanted to share the wonderful thank you letter with someone, so I'm doing that now.
I don't expect every missionary to send a thank you letter for the rosaries I send, but I appreciate when I get one. I'll be keeping this letter.
